Red Split Lentils (Football)
Red Split Lentils (Football Lentils) are produced by hulling (removing the skin) and splitting whole red lentils. They get their “football” nickname from their flat, disc-like shape after this process. Nefis Bulgur’s Red Split Lentils are produced from high-quality grains harvested from Turkey’s most fertile lentil fields.
Their cooking time is very short (approx. 10-15 minutes), and they break down completely into a soft puree when cooked. This characteristic makes them the perfect base ingredient for soups, purees, sauces, and dishes like “Dahl” in Indian cuisine. It is a high source of protein and fiber.

Chickpeas are one of the most versatile and nutritious pulses in global cuisine. Nefis Bulgur sources and processes high-quality Kabuli and Spanish-type chickpeas, carefully selected from Turkey’s most fertile fields.
Processed in our modern sorting and calibration facilities, our chickpeas are precisely sized (calibrated) according to our customers’ specifications (e.g., 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm). Green Lentils
Unlike red lentils, Green Lentils are the whole, unhulled form. They have an “al dente” (firm to the bite) texture, holding their shape when cooked. Nefis Bulgur’s green lentils consist of carefully selected, plump, and uniform grains.
Known for their high protein and fiber content, green lentils are ideal for salads, side dishes, and main courses because they do not break down during cooking. They are widely used both in traditional Turkish cuisine (e.g., green lentil stew, ‘bükme’) and as a healthy component in world cuisines.
