Red Split Lentils (Football)
Red Split Lentils (Football Lentils) are produced by hulling (removing the skin) and splitting whole red lentils. They get their “football” nickname from their flat, disc-like shape after this process. Nefis Bulgur’s Red Split Lentils are produced from high-quality grains harvested from Turkey’s most fertile lentil fields.
Their cooking time is very short (approx. 10-15 minutes), and they break down completely into a soft puree when cooked. This characteristic makes them the perfect base ingredient for soups, purees, sauces, and dishes like “Dahl” in Indian cuisine. It is a high source of protein and fiber.

Unlike red lentils, Green Lentils are the whole, unhulled form. They have an “al dente” (firm to the bite) texture, holding their shape when cooked. Nefis Bulgur’s green lentils consist of carefully selected, plump, and uniform grains.
