Ingredients
- 1 cup Nefis Agro Pilaf Bulgur
- 2 cups hot water or vegetable stock
- 1 cup cooked Nefis Agro Chickpeas
- 1 large dry onion (diced)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- Spices: 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp chili flakes (pul biber), half a tsp black pepper, salt.
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or pilaf pot. Sauté the diced onions for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Add the tomato paste and sauté for 1-2 more minutes until fragrant.
- Add Nefis Agro Pilaf Bulgur to the pot and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked Nefis Agro Chickpeas and all the spices (cumin, chili flakes, black pepper, salt) to the pot and mix.
- Pour in the hot water or vegetable stock. Once it starts to boil, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and cook for about 15-20 minutes until the bulgur has completely absorbed the water.
- Once the pilaf is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it rest, covered, for about 10 minutes.
- Gently fluff the pilaf and serve hot, garnished with finely chopped fresh parsley.
